1. Acceptance of These Terms

Welcome to Brewnote. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at https://trysix.online and any related pages, features, and services (together, the "Site"), operated by Brewnote ("Brewnote," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. Definitions

  • "Content" means all text, articles, images, charts, diagrams, tables, metadata, and other materials available on the Site.
  • "You" or "User" means any person who accesses or uses the Site.
  • "Third-Party Services" means services operated by others, including advertising, analytics, and linked websites.

3. Eligibility

The Site is intended for a general adult audience. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction (generally under 18), you may use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Site you represent that you can form a binding contract and are not barred from doing so under applicable law.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Brewnote is an independent publication about coffee. All original material on the Site — including our articles, explanations, tables, charts, illustrations, site design, layout, branding, and logos — is our property or licensed to us and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The "Brewnote" name and logo are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.

4.2 We quote briefly from scientific papers, standards documents and government publications for the purposes of commentary, criticism, scholarship and research, with attribution and links to the original source in every case. Those underlying works remain the property of their respective rights holders, and their inclusion here does not transfer any rights in them to you or to us. See Section 13 on fair use.

4.3 Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial license to access and read the Site, and to print or save individual articles for your own private reference. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link. You may not republish, syndicate, or reproduce our articles in substantial part, or use them to train machine-learning models, without our written permission.

5. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site in violation of any applicable law;
  • use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to systematically download or copy the Site, or to overload our infrastructure;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its servers;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices on materials we provide;
  • republish our articles, in whole or in substantial part, without written permission; or
  • use the Site to distribute malware or engage in fraudulent, harmful, or deceptive activity.

6. Nature of the Content

6.1 Our articles are provided for general information and education. They are written to be accurate and every substantive factual claim is sourced, but coffee science is an active field, figures vary between studies, and we may make mistakes. Content is provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy or completeness.

6.2 Nothing on the Site is medical, health, nutritional, legal or financial advice. Our articles discuss caffeine content, hydration, acidity and related topics because they are among the most common questions readers ask about coffee — not to guide any health decision. Caffeine affects people differently and interacts with medications and medical conditions. Always consult a qualified professional about your own circumstances. Our full Disclaimer sets this out in detail and forms part of these Terms.

6.3 Where the evidence for a popular claim is weak, contested or absent, we say so rather than repeating it. Where a figure is an average across a wide range, we say that too. Please read those qualifications as part of the content rather than as hedging.

7. Corrections and Reader Submissions

If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, we want to hear about it. Email contact@trysix.online with the article, the claim and, if possible, a source. If you send us a correction, a source, or a suggestion, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use it in improving the Site. We may review, decline, edit, or act on submissions at our discretion, and we are not obliged to credit or respond to every message. Our Editorial Policy explains how we handle corrections.

The Site links to Third-Party Services and external sources, including journal articles, DOI resolvers, standards bodies such as the Specialty Coffee Association, and government sources such as the FDA and USDA. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site. Links do not imply endorsement, and your use of third-party sites is governed by their terms.

9. Advertising and Google AdSense

9.1 The Site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.

9.2 You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising via https://www.aboutads.info/. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before advertising and other non-essential cookies are set, and for users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland we use a Google-certified consent management platform to gather that consent.

9.3 We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or for the products or services they promote. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content, and the appearance of an advertisement for a product is not a recommendation of it.

10. Cookies and Analytics

10.1 The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, advertising, and analytics. For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

10.2 Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site. It sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, session duration, approximate location, and device and browser data. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

10.3 Microsoft Clarity. We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with the Site through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies. For more information, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

10.4 Your choices. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through our consent tool. California residents and users covered by other privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; see our Privacy Policy for how to exercise them.

11. Disclaimers and No Warranty

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any Content is accurate or complete. Nothing on the Site is medical, legal or professional advice.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BREWNOTE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

13. Fair Use Notice

The Site quotes and references copyrighted material in a limited way for purposes such as commentary, criticism, scholarship, research, and education. We believe such use constitutes "fair use" under 17 U.S.C. § 107 of United States copyright law. If you are a rights holder and believe any such use exceeds fair use, please contact us at contact@trysix.online or see our DMCA & Copyright Policy.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brewnote and its owners and operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any law or third-party right.

15.1 We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, please notify us at contact@trysix.online. Full details of the procedure, including what a notice must contain and how to file a counter-notice, are set out in our DMCA & Copyright Policy.

15.2 Upon receiving a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material. We will, in appropriate circumstances, remove content and restrict users who are repeat infringers.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

16.2 You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved in the courts having competent jurisdiction over the operator of Brewnote, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts, except where prohibited by applicable law.

17. International Users

The Site is controlled and operated from the United States. We make no representation that the Site or its Content is appropriate or lawful in other locations. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. Note that regulatory figures we cite — for example caffeine guidance and decaffeination standards — are generally US standards, and equivalents in your country may differ.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

19. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive termination.

20. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and Brewnote regarding the Site.
